Birmingham Printmakers is an artist-led organisation that provides printmaking facilities to its members. The workshop was established in 1982 and currently has around 60 members. We provide space for members to produce original prints using a range of processes and materials and outcomes range from prints produced for a fine art market to printed functional textiles, artists books and ceramic pieces. Users of the space can be professional makers, artists or those pursuing printmaking as a hobby. Birmingham Printmakers is run by a voluntary committee of members. Some technical support is available on request.
Alongside the provision of equipment and materials we regularly provide courses in all types of printmaking and organize exhibitions throughout the country and abroad. Our members work with a wide range of different clients ranging from galleries to illustration agencies and as an organisation we also provide workshops to members of the public and organisations such as the Barber Institute and Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.
