In October 2014, as part of the Birmingham Production Space research project, we carried out an online survey that aimed to find out where artists, designers, architects, makers and cultural producers in the West Midlands were working, how they were making things and how they were developing new skills.
165 people completed the survey and the findings provide a useful snapshot of the current context. Comments are also included as they give a good sense of the challenges facing the creative community.
